Give something back …
Doing something nice for a friend, family member, neighbour or a stranger can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you. It can be as simple as a smile, or a ‘thank you’. But if you have a little more time and energy to give you could think about joining a community group or volunteering your time. Seeing yourself, and your happiness linked in to those around you gives you a feel-good factor and links you in to your local community.
Volunteering could mean anything from dog-walking for an animal charity, to renovating old furniture to befriending a lonely person. Contact Flintshire Local Voluntary Council to find out more about what’s on offer in Flintshire.
Or if you’d like to volunteer your time for New Mind, you could get involved with our drop-in, or Step-Up! Step-Out programme or you could help with fundraising or on our board.
